As of 11 February, the survey results from 890 impacted communities have been entered into the LIS database. These communities report 200 mine victims within the last two years and 1,373 suspected hazard areas (SHAs) that block access to a variety of socioeconomic resources. On average, a community is impacted by 1.5 SHAs. More than three SHAs have been identified in 38 communities and six SHAs or more have been identified in seven communities.

The most prevalent resource blockage is rain-fed agricultural land (in 522 communities, 59%). Non-agricultural land such as forest areas, where firewood or wild plants are collected, is blocked in 406 communities (46%). Less frequent are the blockages of infrastructure with 151 (17%) and drinking water sources with 54 (6%) communities.

Eritrea
The final report has been submitted to the printers.

Ethiopia
Ethiopian Mine Action Office (EMAO) is reviewing the final report.
