Afghanistan
The final report submitted for review by the government of Afghanistan.
Angola
As of 22 April, as a result of approximately 2,500 community visits in twelve of Angola’s eighteen provinces
the survey teams have identified 1,291 communities with landmine/UXO contamination. In addition,
215 communities could not be visited, mainly due to mined roads and disabled bridges. Due to a gap
in funding, the Angola survey has been put on hold for four months while SAC raises funds to complete
the survey.
Eritrea
The final report has been readied for distribution.
Ethiopia
Ethiopian Mine Action Office (EMAO) is reviewing the final report.
Somalia (Phase 2: Bari, Nugaal and Mudug Regions)
Data collection finished on 29 April. Director for Survey Mike Kendellen traveled to Puntland for
two weeks to oversee the survey conclusion and assist with drafting the final report.
Survey Action Center
Executive Director Bob Eaton and Senior Information Officer Craig Williams traveled to Zagreb for
consultations with CROMAC and Bob continued on to Sarajevo for a European Community meeting on
mine action in southeast Europe.
