Angola [funded by EC, USA, Germany, Canada]
Santa Barbara and NPA continue field work in Bengo and Uige provinces, respectively. CNIDAH designs National Mine Action Strategy around the preliminary LIS results. LIS data and "community impact" are core of CNIDAH approach to management of national program.

Democratic Republic of Congo [funded by Canada]
With funding from Canada, SAC and DanChurchAid will conduct an enhanced Preliminary Opinion Collection to the district level in 2007.

Ethiopia [funded by EC, Norway, USA, Germany, Netherlands]
Ethiopian Mine Action Office (EMAO) requests UN certification of the LIS.

Somalia (Phase 3: Sanaag & Sool regions) [funded by EC through UNDP/UNOPS]
SAC and the Somaliland Mine Action Center completed Preliminary Opinion Collection (POC) in Sanaag and Sool in which 115 mine suspected communities were identified. SAC Consultant Almedina Komic led training for senior staff and interviewers. Field work to begin in early December.

Sudan [funded by Canada]
Training of senior staff and interviewers completed. Mines Advisory Group begins field work in Blue Nile state. UNMAS Quality Assurance Monitor (QAM) begins mission.
