Angola [funded by EC, USA, Germany, Canada]
Final report drafted, translated into Portuguese, and being reviewed by CNIDAH in Luanda.

Democratic Republic of Congo [funded by Canada]
With funding from Canada, SAC will conduct an enhanced survey in selected districts in 2008.

Somalia (Phase 3: Sanaag & Sool regions) [funded by EC through UNDP/UNOPS]
The final report has been drafted and is being reviewed by UNDP and the Somaliland and Puntland Mine Action Centers.

Sudan [funded by Canada, UNMAS]
Mines Advisory Group continues field work in Warrap, Lakes and Central Equatoria.

Victim Reduction Model [funded by U.S. Department of State]
The project is building on the current analytical work of the Survey Action Center to build a statistically sound model that will permit national authorities to use LIS data to project probabilities of future mine incidents in communities identified by the LIS. The field work will begin in Afghanistan in December.

Impact Scoring Alternatives [funded by U.S. Department of State]
The project proceeds using the databases from the LIS in Angola, Afghanistan and Eritrea to test the statistical validity of several scenarios that include variables not covered in the SWG protocol on impact scoring.

LIS Explorer Upgrade [funded by U.S. Department of State]
The LIS Explorer is available from the SAC website (click here for the homepage). It includes databases from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Chad, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, Thailand, and Yemen. A user guide is available for download (right-click here to download the user guide using 'Save Target As...' ).

Mine Information Matrix [contracted by Marshall Legacy Institute with funding from the U.S. Department of State]
SAC, Marshall Legacy Institute, and James Madison University – Mine Action Information Center continue researching key mine affected countries.
