Angola [funded by EC, USA, Germany, Canada]
Santa Barbara and NPA complete field work in Bengo and Uige provinces, respectively, leaving Cabinda as the sole province to survey. INAD has commenced the Preliminary Opinion Collection in Cabinda.

Democratic Republic of Congo [funded by Canada]
With funding from Canada, SAC will conduct an enhanced Preliminary Opinion Collection to the district level in 2007.

Somalia (Phase 3: Sanaag & Sool regions) [funded by EC through UNDP/UNOPS]
The field work Sanaag and Sool from the Somaliland side has been completed. In April the field work will resume from the Puntland side of the regions. It is projected the fieldwork for the survey will be completed in the second half of May.

Sudan [funded by Canada, UNMAS]
Mines Advisory Group establishes LIS office in Kassala in north Sudan and begins POC in Northern Bahr el Ghazal in south Sudan.

Informal Village Demining [funded by U.S. Department of State]
Dr. Michael Fleisher is in Kwanza Sul province in Angola researching informal village demining. He completes the project in March.

LIS Explorer Upgrade [funded by U.S. Department of State]
Subcontractor ThinkGeo LLC of Lawrence, Kansas has released the upgrade of the LIS Explorer for final testing. Four new country databases have been added and improvements have been made to the user interface and system performance. The completed upgrade should be posted on the SAC website in March.

Mine Information Matrix [contracted by Marshall Legacy Institute with funding from the U.S. Department of State]
SAC, Marshall Legacy Institute, and James Madison University – Mine Action Information Center are researching key mine affected countries.
