Democratic Republic of Congo [funded by Canada]
With funding from Canada, SAC will conduct an enhanced Preliminary Opinion Collection to the district level in 2008.

Somalia (Phase 3: Sanaag & Sool regions) [funded by EC through UNDP/UNOPS]
Field work completed. Final report drafted and being reviewed by UNDP, Somaliland, and Puntland Mine Action Centers.

Sudan [funded by Canada, UNMAS]
Mines Advisory Group completes field work in Kassala, Sennar, Gederaf, Red Sea state and Northern Bahr El Ghazal. Field work began in Warrap, Lakes and Central Equatoria. By end of 2007, 10 states will have been surveyed. The LIS report for Eastern Sudan will be available in September.

Economic Planning Tool [funded by U.S. Department of State]
SAC conducted field research in Angola and Afghanistan to develop economic decision support tools for use in mine action, with the aim to advance knowledge in the areas of impact survey data utilization, surveillance methods, and planning.

LIS Explorer Upgrade [funded by U.S. Department of State]
The new LIS Explorer upgrade is now available from the SAC website ( Click here for the homepage). It includes databases from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Chad, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Thailand, Somalia, and Yemen. A user guide is available for download (click here to view user guide).
